GitGud Painting

The first step on your journey to be a better painter.

Our Mission

Two guys on a mission to provide tutorials, feedback, and community to miniature painters

One day, two painters in different countries decided to try and create the miniature community they'd always wanted - GitGud is the result. Painting miniatures is a solitary hobby, where progress, and friends, can be hard to find. GitGud is all about raising up all miniature painters to achieve their potential, while providing a fun community of like-minded people to share the journey with. Join us, and see what heights you can reach.

Passionate about community and ensuring everybody has a feeling of belonging in our wonderful hobby, Magnus is the beating heart of GitGud. You’ll often find him hunched over his painting desk, drinking too much Red Bull.

Bruce

The guy responsible for pushing the buttons, Bruce is the technical lead for GitGud, ensuring the videos get made and the tech works when it’s supposed to. Having only started painting in 2023, Bruce is relatively new to the hobby, finding himself on the same journey as many within our community. You’ll often find him at the computer, working out the content schedule and wondering when he’ll get to paint.

Quotes from the Community

The quality of the tutorials is outstanding, not just explaining the how but the why. I've improved more in the last few months than I have in years. 5/5 Stars

Scott Frazier

Magnus and Bruce have formed a fantastic collaborative community with members of all skill levels helping each other improve their painting abilities, be it for tabletop wargaming or display/competition level work. Magnus is a skilled painter who has been instrumental in improving my own skill by meticulously breaking down areas of improvement and providing paint-over images of my work to help me improve in as much detail as possible.

Lewis Jones

Magnus is one of the nicest, most talented people I've had the pleasure of dealing with. He's beyond humble, patient and willing to work with and help anyone out - no matter their skill level or what they're struggling with.

David K

Agreed think I've improved more in the week I've been here than I have in the last year

Quake

They helped I get more gudder

Mike Terrible Work

I'm very happy to be a part of this community! It's still small, slowly growing, but very active and very helpful. You can ask for feedback or just join in on the banter about anything and everything. Sometimes mature, sometimes eh a little less so 😂

Miriam Kleijn

Magnus - Just wanted to say what a great job you're doing with the Patreon videos. I've tried NMM dozens of time and just haven't got it, but watching the way you work, and listening to your explanations in the Halgrim videos has really helped clear some blocks I had.

Colin Barnes

I got gud.

GitGud is an amazing community. We got people from all kinds of skill levels, from beginner to an actual Golden Demon winner. Which is great of course, but the best thing is, that it's an active community with just great people who help each other get better at painting miniatures. We got regular hobby hangouts to just talk and paint which is a great way of staying motivated. Now this is just the Discord. The guys who are behind GitGud painting are 2 magnificent beasts. The amount of content they create is insane and the feedback you get from Magnus is great and tailored to the level the painter is on. All in all it's just a great community to be part of!
